We built Safe Mode for you. Not as an afterthought, but as a core promise: Avelia will never become a tool used against the people it was built to protect.
On your device
You can set a second PIN in Avelia, under Settings → Ways to sign in → App PIN. In the app, Safe Mode is simply called “Second PIN”. If you enter it instead of your usual PIN, the app opens a separate profile.
The second profile shows everyday entries, like period days, moods and sleep, without the details. Your notes, medications and anything sensitive stay out. If you want, your private notes can be included. Nothing on screen shows which PIN was used.
Your real entries stay on your phone, encrypted. Our server only ever stores encrypted data it cannot read, and it doesn’t know which PIN you use. If you remove the second PIN, its profile is deleted with it.
Some partners don’t just look at your phone — they insist on linking accounts and seeing your entries. With Safe Mode, you decide in advance what each partner sees:
For each linked partner, you choose whether they see your real profile or your second-PIN profile. Someone you trust can see the real one. Someone you don’t can see the other.
You make this choice in your real profile, at a calm moment, before anyone asks. It is not something you have to do in front of anyone.
Whichever profile a partner sees, it reaches them end-to-end encrypted. Our server only passes on data it cannot read.
In some countries, evidence of contraception use, pregnancy termination, or fertility treatment can lead to prosecution. In some homes, a partner discovering cycle tracking data — or noticing its absence — can trigger violence.
Other apps tell you to “just delete the app.” That itself can raise suspicion. And apps that offer partner sharing give you no way to take part without exposing everything. Safe Mode lets you keep Avelia on your phone and stay linked with a partner, while your real entries stay with you.
