When you need Avelia most, cost shouldn’t be the barrier.

Some people need Avelia more than they can safely pay for it. People in coercive households. Survivors working through trauma. People in jurisdictions where reproductive health tracking carries legal risk. Refugees and displaced people.

The Avelia Fund exists for them. We give free Premium licences to partner organisations — shelters, hotlines, health advocacy groups, reproductive health NGOs — who distribute them at their discretion. You never identify yourself to us. We never ask who you are.

Why we do this

Because structural privacy means something.

Most health apps fund themselves by selling user data. That gives them nothing to give away — a free user is a free data source, not a gift. Avelia’s zero-knowledge architecture means we literally cannot read your data, so we have nothing to monetise either way. Giving the app away to people who need it costs us almost nothing — and it’s the right thing to do.

How to get a free licence

More than one path to a code.

Avelia Fund codes normally travel through partner organisations rather than through us. That is deliberate: when someone else hands you the code, we never learn that you asked for one.

1

Ask an organisation that supports you

If you’re already in touch with a shelter, hotline, counselling centre, midwife, or clinic, ask whether they have Avelia codes. Explain your situation, or don’t — it’s entirely their decision how they distribute.

2

Or ask them to request codes

Any organisation supporting people at risk can request Avelia Premium licences from us. If yours doesn’t have codes yet, point them at this page — there’s no cost and no financial obligation on their side.

3

Redeem the code in the Avelia app

Download Avelia from the App Store or Google Play. Open the app and choose “I have a redemption code”. Enter the code. You’re done — no email, no payment, no personal information required.

While we build the partner network, write to us

Our first partner organisations are still being onboarded, so for now you can simply email fund@avelia-health.com and ask for a code. No application, no explanation, no proof of anything.

One honest caveat: writing to us means we see your email address — the exact thing the partner route is designed to avoid. Use an address nobody else can read, or a throwaway one. We delete your message and your address once the code is sent, and add neither to any list. Redeeming the code never links that address to your Avelia account.

Partner network

Who distributes Avelia Fund codes.

Avelia Fund codes reach people through partner organisations — shelters, hotlines, counselling centres, and reproductive health NGOs. Never through us directly, so that we never learn who you are.

We’re onboarding our first partner organisations now. Once agreements are signed, they’ll be listed here by name and region. If your organisation serves people at risk and would like to distribute codes, get in touch at fund@avelia-health.com.

For organisations

Become a partner.

If your organisation serves at-risk people and you’d like to distribute Avelia Fund codes to the people you support, we’d like to hear from you. Partner agreements are lightweight, there are no financial obligations on your side, and code distribution is entirely at your discretion.

Questions & answers

Frequently asked questions

Can I ask Avelia for a code directly?
Yes, for now. Until our first partner organisations are live, you can email fund@avelia-health.com and ask for a code — we will not ask why. Be aware that this route means we see your email address, which the partner route avoids; use an address nobody else has access to. We delete your message and your address once the code is sent, and add neither to a mailing list, our waitlist, or anything else. Once partners are distributing codes, this direct route closes and we go back to never knowing who redeemed what.
Do I need to prove I’m eligible?
No. Avelia has no eligibility criteria — we leave distribution decisions entirely to the organisations that hand out codes. They know their communities best. Contact one of them and they decide whether and how to distribute.
Will Avelia know I used a Fund code?
We know the code was redeemed. We do not know who redeemed it, who gave it to you, when you received it, or anything else about you. Redemption creates an anonymous account identified only by a random number that you generate on your phone.
How long is a Fund code valid?
Fund codes unlock Avelia Premium for 12 months from redemption. Unredeemed codes can be redeemed for at least 3 years from the date they were issued.
What happens when my account expires?
Once your licence expires, you can no longer sync data between devices. After a grace period of 2–4 weeks, your data must be removed from our servers — only the local copy on your phone remains. To continue using Avelia, you have three options: redeem a new free Fund code from a partner organisation, switch to a paid account by purchasing in-app, or buy a code from one of our partners.
Can I share my code with someone else?
Technically yes, until it’s redeemed. Once redeemed, a code can only be used once. We ask you to use codes for their intended purpose, but we have no way to enforce this.
Why is Avelia doing this?
Because we built Avelia for people who need private, trustworthy tools — and excluding the people who need them most would contradict the purpose of the app. Unlike competitors who sell user data, Avelia’s zero-knowledge architecture means giving away free licences costs us almost nothing. It’s the right thing to do, and we can afford to do it.
